Faces of Frome
Faces of Frome is an ongoing project documenting the diversity of the people of Frome in partnership with The Frome Independent market.
Permanent residents and those visiting this vibrant community are invited to take part. The photographs form part of a living archive, added to with each edition of Photo|Frome festival, building a unique record of the community. Everyone who takes part gets their own digital portrait. In 2022, we ran the first ‘pop-up’ outdoor studio on July market day. Photographs were taken by BA students from Boomsatsuma, Bristol. Students of Frome College handled the consent forms. This was repeated in 2023 and 2025. Students from Boomsatsuma and Frome College students managed the administration.
FREE ‘pop-up’ studio was again at the Frome Independent market on Sunday 6 April, 2025 by Frome Library.
Sitters all received a free digital file of their portrait whether or not they consent to use in the archive.
During the festival, photographs from previous years weree exhibited outdoors at Victoria Park, Frome.
